How to connect Meta (Facebook & Instagram)

Honestly: Meta reading is not self-service in the portal yet. How you grant partner access to Florentin, what he analyses and what changes when the connection becomes automatic.

The situation

You run campaigns on Facebook and Instagram and you want them in the same queue as everything else. In Account › Connected systems you see the Meta row — "Ads · Pages · Instagram insights". Here is exactly where we stand with it, without embellishing.

What exists and what does not

The portal has the Meta connection defined: a Meta authorisation with read permissions (ads_read, read_insights, pages_read_engagement, business_management). But it only activates once configured for your account; until then, instead of a button it reads "with Florentin, in the first session".

More important, honestly: even with the button active, Valhalla does not yet read Meta data automatically the way it reads GA4 and Search Console. There is no Meta reader today that turns your ads account into findings with evidence. So we do not promise you "Meta connected → recommendations in 24h".

What exists and works: Florentin analyses Meta accounts in a session, with partner access, and the findings enter the portal as recommendations he writes, with evidence (screenshots, exports, numbers from Ads Manager).

How to grant access, today

The right way is partner access from Meta Business Suite — no passwords, no shared accounts:

  1. Open Meta Business Suite › Settings › Partners.
  2. Choose Add partner and enter the Business ID Florentin gives you (ask for it in the portal, through Ask Valhalla, or on WhatsApp).
  3. Select the assets: the ad account, the Facebook page, the Instagram account, possibly the pixel / dataset.
  4. Grant analyse / view permissions for ads and insights. "Manage campaigns" is not needed for an audit.
  5. Tell Florentin in the portal that you granted access. He confirms it in the first session's log.

You can narrow or withdraw the access at any time from the same place. When you have approved work that requires changes (for example restructuring campaigns), Florentin explicitly asks for manage permission, within the session scope, and tells you when it is no longer needed.

What Florentin analyses in a session

  • account structure: campaigns, ad sets, overlapping audiences;
  • fatigued creatives (high frequency, falling CTR);
  • Conversions API and event matching with the pixel;
  • spend without results in the last 30 days;
  • alignment with the goals chosen at onboarding.

The findings become recommendations in Needs your approval, with effort and priority like any other.

What changes when the connection becomes automatic

When the Meta connection activates in the portal, the steps will mirror Google: Connect in Account, authorise, return. The row will show the account and date; "Revoke" will delete the tokens. This tutorial gets updated then — the "Updated" date at the top tells you whether you are reading the current version.

What to remember

  • Meta reading is not self-service yet: the Account row reads "with Florentin, in the first session".
  • The right path today: partner access from Meta Business Suite, with analyse permissions, to Florentin's Business ID.
  • Meta findings enter the portal as recommendations written by Florentin, with evidence.
  • Never passwords or Admin roles for an audit; access is reversible at any time.

Frequently asked

I do see a "Connect" button on Meta though. Should I press it?

You can — it records a read authorisation, reversible. But it does not replace partner access: the actual analysis is done by Florentin in a session until the automatic reader exists.
