The situation

You approved seven things. In Improve › Approved, the "Next up" list shows them numbered 01–07. You want to understand why this order and not another — and whether you can change it.

Short answer: the order is computed, explainable and, within clear limits, yours.

The ordering rule

The queue sorts in four steps, in this order:

  1. Critical first. Any recommendation marked Critical goes ahead of everything. It costs you money or data every day — it waits for nothing.
  2. Your order. If you moved items by hand, your order wins over the score. Never over a critical item or a dependency.
  3. The score. The rest settle by priority score, descending.
  4. Age. At equal score, what was approved earlier goes first.

At the end, a dependency pass: an item cannot sit ahead of another item it depends on. In the list, this reads as 'after "Conversion tracking"'.

The score, in words

Valhalla does not show you bars and digits — it shows you a priority word and a sentence. Behind it, the score (0–100) is made of six things, each with its weight:

  • Impact — 30%. High, medium or low, for the business.
  • Urgency — 20%. How fast things get worse if you wait.
  • Confidence — 15%. How sure the finding is (the percentage on the card).
  • Fit with your goals — 15%. You chose 1–3 goals at onboarding; a recommendation that serves them directly climbs.
  • Risk if ignored — 10%.
  • Effort — lowers the score: part of a session lowers nothing, a project lowers the most.

In short: impact · urgency · confidence · fit · risk − effort. The portal says exactly this under the list: "Order: critical first, then impact × urgency × confidence, minus effort."

How to move items

You can reorder approved items:

  1. Open Improve › Approved.
  2. On desktop, drag a row; on the phone, long-press or use the ↑ ↓ arrows.
  3. The order saves at once: "Order saved. Valhalla recalculates the dates." Proposed dates are redone in the new order.

Two things you cannot move: the session In progress and Critical items (they show the chip instead of arrows). And if your move breaks a dependency, you get an honest warning — 'Moving this ahead may delay "X", which this task depends on.' — with an Undo button that resets to the computed order.

What to remember

  • Order: critical → your order → score → age, with dependencies respected.
  • Score = impact · urgency · confidence · fit · risk − effort; you see a word and a sentence, not digits.
  • You can move approved items (drag, ↑↓); Valhalla warns on dependencies and keeps criticals in front.
  • "Approved" means "in the plan", not "now".

Frequently asked

Why do I not see the score as a number?

Because a number without context does not help a decision. The priority chip and the sentence under the title say the same thing in words; if you want details, "Ask Valhalla" explains the factors.

Can I put something ahead of a critical item?

No. You can try, but Valhalla keeps the critical one ahead and tells you: '"X" is critical — Valhalla will keep it ahead.'
